One of the longest-standing classical guitar duos on the international scene, the McClelland-Cousté Duo has appeared in concert across five continents, from the Beijing Concert Hall to the Teatro Juan de Vera in Argentina, from the historic Sainte Chapelle in Paris to the Guitar Festival of Great Britain at West Dean and the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa. Praised by critics and the public alike, the two artists have acquired a reputation for unique programming which appeals to a wide audience.

Based in the Paris area, the husband and wife team of Vincea McClelland and Raymond Cousté made their international début as a duo in 1988 when they received an official invitation to tour the People’s Republic of China, a three-week visit sponsored by the French government. As a result of their innovative concerts and masterclasses, the couple were named honorary advisors to the Guitar Societies of Shanghaï and Beijing. Since then they have performed together in many countries including Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Britain, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Egypt. They have released numerous CDs and recorded live-in-concert broadcasts for CBC Radio-Canada, Radio France and Chinese State Radio. Both artists maintain active solo careers and are qualified music professors in France.
